Kansas ranks No. 30 in millionaire households - Wichita Business Journal:

It ranks Kansas No. 30 Hawaii is No. 1 with 6.41 percent of its householdxs with $1 million or more in investable or liquid assets excluding sponsored retirement plans andreal estate. However, the numbere of millionaires nationwide has declined 14 percent in the past two according to the PhoenixAffluent study. Other states in the top five in millionairexs per population areMaryland (6.3 New Jersey (6.2 percent) and Connecticut (6.2 percent). In Kansas, 43,205 of more than 1 million total household s were classifiedas millionaires. That is a drop from when 4.4 percent of householdsx were millionaires.
“While the top states in millionairw percentages were little changed from theprevious overall, the market downturn has taken its toll on the ranks of millionairese in most states,” says David managing director of the Phoenix Affluenrt Market, in a written statement. there are about 5.1 million householda that qualifyas millionaires, down from nearly six million two year s ago, according to the study.
