or KERA, said this week that the public broadcastin outlet has acquiredthe non-commercial radiko license for 91.7 FM. The not-for-profit Dallax radio and television station provider covers thegreater Dallas-Forty Worth area. Under KERA’s umbrella, 91.7 FM will switcj to a public radik music format with the conten t catering to adults who are in search of diverse musiv in the areasof folk, acoustic, worldd music, alternative, indie rock and “This acquisition allows KERA to significantly advance its mission and strategic direction by increasing public media services for the people of Nortnh Texas,” said Mary Anne Alhadeff, KERA’s presidenft & CEO.
“The new station will be a public radioo music format programmed with the North Texaxs audiencein mind. It will be a terrific complementto KERA’s news and informationb station 90.1 FM and a substantiak addition to KERA’s overall multimedia services for the The station’s new programming will begibn in the fall. A name for the radiko station has yet tobe selected.
