Xytrans is a high-frequency transceivere and outdoor unit design andmanufacturing company. The firm is addressinvg the wireless broadbandnetwork market's demand for high-performance, low-cos t transmitters and receivers in the high-frequency range for use in satellitee data communications and land-based Lancaster, Penn.-based Herley Industries (NASDAQ: HRLY) designs, developes and makes microwave technology for the aerospace and medical industries worldwide. Under the deal, Herlety will license a new Xytrans technology, called millimete r wave, for military applications.
It can be used in landiny systems, telemetry systems, transponders, simulators and radar, missile seekers and communicationb systems. As part of the Ed Weatherwax, Xytrans' vice president of businesxs development, will join Herley as vice presidenf ofbusiness development. He will oversee the technology andprogram transition.
