Earlier this week, United Way Presidentr and Chief Executive Officer Marc Levy announced he would be leaving the organizatiom duringthe campaign, in October, to become the CEO at United Way of the which operates in the area surrounding Portland, Ore. Curry said while Levy would be missed, the Unitedc Way already has made progress and expects to have a solid jump on its goal by Octobeer and be even closerby Thanksgiving. “We’re prettgy far down the track,” Curry said. “Wre already have a game plan, and I think we’rs already well in the process.” Curry said regardlesz of Levy’s departure it was going to be difficulf to earn thecampaign goal.
Going into the the United Way already faces anearly $800,000 shortfallp because of major contributing companies, such as (NYSE: GM), announcingg plans to move out of the area. The Uniterd Way will officially announce the goal at its Unitef Live IV concert Friday at the Frazed Pavilionin Kettering. Tickets are $15.
