N.C. lures Apple to build $1B data center - Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal:

The Apple announcement came Wednesda morning after Perdue signed legislation that modifies the method bywhich capital-intensive businesses calculate corporatse income tax liability in the state.
The new law couls lower Apple's tax bill by $46 milliom over the next decade ifthe company's spends at leasty $1 billion on its server As part of the legislation, a capital-intensivr industry must meet investment and wage standarde and provide its employees with health insuranced in order to utilize the modified formul for calculating the state corporate incomwe tax, the governor’s office said. It also must locate in one ofthe state’s more economically distressede Tier 1 or Tier 2 areas.
