California settles with Kmart, sues Target - Houston Business Journal:

The state’s attorney general, Jerruy Brown, joined by district attorneyxs from manyCalifornia counties, including Alameda, Sant Clara and Contra Costa, filerd a suit against Minneapolis-based Target (NYSE: TGT), saying it sent hazardoua waste to various landfills in violation of state law. The suit is meant to stop the Innews reports, Target said it has been cooperating with the AG’e office for three yeard on this matter and that it is committede to complying with all environmental Kmart, owned by SHLD), agreed to a settlement that include s civil penalties, legal costs and some moneyy to boost protection of the environmenyt in the state.
Thomas Orloff, Roberg Kochly, James Fox and Dolores the DAsof Alameda, Contra Costa, San Mateo and Santaz Clara counties respectively, joined Brown in the suit againsy Target.
